Amsterdam: Highlights & Hidden Gems

Most Popular

We experience Amsterdam the way locals do — by bike.

This tour isn't a checklist of sights. It's a journey through the history of a city, told at the places where it actually happened.

We start at the Brouwersgracht, where Amsterdam first rose out of the water — a fishing village that would become the most powerful trading city in the world.

At the West India House, we step into the Golden Age: the era when Amsterdam's ships ruled the seas and the city became the richest of its time. But every golden age has its dark side — at the Torensluis bridge, we talk openly about colonialism and slavery, the uncomfortable foundations some of that wealth was built on.

From there we continue to the Westerkerk and the Anne Frank House — places that speak to Dutch independence and to one of the most moving chapters of the city's history: Amsterdam's Jewish story.

In Vondelpark we take a break — coffee, cake, or a beer in the beer garden. Time to catch your breath, swap stories, and get to know each other better.

At Museumplein, we finally settle the most important question of all: has Amsterdam always had this many bicycles?

We end at one of the city's hidden treasures — the Begijnhof, a quiet 14th-century courtyard most visitors never see. Let it surprise you.

After the tour, we're happy to answer any remaining questions — and share personal recommendations for the rest of your time in Amsterdam.
