Rural Holland: Private Countryside Bike Tour

Out of the city. Into real Holland.

This tour takes you to where Amsterdam began — and to where the Netherlands still looks the way it always has.

We start in Amsterdam Noord, a district with its own often-overlooked history, and the perfect starting point for a ride into the rural surroundings.

Along the Nieuwendammerdijk, we cycle through one of the most beautiful and least-known streets in the Netherlands — 17th-century Dutch houses right on the dike, far from the bustle of the city center.

In Durgerdam, we stop on a dike overlooking the IJmeer. Here we talk about what has shaped the Netherlands more than almost anything else: the eternal battle against water, past and present. Before continuing, we take a separate coffee break with homemade apple pie, at a spot along the route that suits you and the day.

On to Ransdorp — a village almost no one knows, where the history of Dutch independence and the role of religion become tangible in a tiny space.

In Zunderdorp, we dive into the world of Dutch agriculture — one of the most productive and innovative in the world, still shaping the land and its landscape today.

We finish at the Krijtmolen 't Admiraal — a genuine, working windmill. We explain why the windmill isn't just a symbol, but the tool without which the Netherlands wouldn't exist in its current form.

From there, we head back to Amsterdam — with a different perspective on the land you've just ridden through. The tour is exclusively for your group, and as always, we're happy to adjust the pace, focus, and stops to your wishes.
